OMG, EAPC!

I learned a new acronym today. EAPC= Early American Prescut. I learned it because I found this gorgeous punch bowl set for a steal at a thrift-store today! Of course I had to get online and research what I had just bought as soon as I was near a computer. It's a style of glass service-ware that was made in the US in the 60's and 70's. The pattern is called Star of David and it's made by Anchor Hocking. It came with 10 cups, the base which can be turned over and used as a footed bowl, and the little cup hooks to hang them on the rim of the punch bowl.

I haven't even cleaned it yet, and I think it's one of the most gorgeous things in the world! I plan to actually use it for pink fluff at the wedding, but now I want punch with every meal!

I was in shock to find something for such a smoking deal and I kept asking the people who worked at the thrift store if that really was the price and if it really was for all 12 pieces. They thought I was nuts and were laughing at me. I don't think they understood how cool this punch bowl set really is.

It's possible that I may have also accidentally bought a vintage pattern for 29 cents and some milk glass vases that I didn't really need. You know, these things happen sometimes.

Roses From My Michael!

My honey brought home the most beautiful roses tonight! It was such a wonderful surprise!

They're a gorgeous shade of rosey-pink. And he also gave me the sweetest and most touching card I've ever received.

Happy Easter!

We've been shooting all through the night both Friday and Saturday for Obituary Notice. Last night was Ally's big Ghost Girl scenes. She was such a trooper and sat through two rounds of makeup. Then she endured wearing the makeup for hours and hours. What dedication! It was really a pleasure having Ally and her mom, Nancy join the cast and crew last night. We had a super fun evening with a really great group of people.

We still haven't quite finished shooting night scenes, so we're looking at another long night tonight. It's so much fun, though, we're actually looking forward to much more!

The Easter Bunny dropped by this morning even though we were shooting until 3:30am. He left some goodies in Michael's dinosaur easter basket! Then we had a nice little breakfast and just lounged around the house before getting ready for another long night.

Easter Eggs and Fake Blood

I love to color easter eggs! Each year as it gets close to easter I see the Paas egg coloring kits and I remember that I get to color eggs! I always add vinegar and leave the eggs in the dye for a long time because I like them to be as vibrant as possible. I saved my egg-shaped coloring cups from last year and I got a "vehEGGles" coloring kit for this year. I wasn't really interested in the fire, ambulance and police stickers for the eggs, I just put them right on the little egg-shaped chasis. They look like multi-colored VW's.

I also just like to see a bunch of brightly colored easter eggs. :)

I also made some "Spaghetti Western Arterial Red" this afternoon. (I love that name) Thanks to Kimbra I found a great homemade blood recipe that's supposed to be washable. It's a really simple concoction of dishsoap, cornstarch, and food color. It looks like a fresh arterial spray, but it smells clean and crisp like an apple orchard.

I made up a small batch and I put some on the wall and in the bathtub to make sure we'll be able to wash it out. I'll check on it Friday morning and see how it does. With the remaining blood, I started to bloody-up the ghost girl's nightgown. It looks pretty authentic, but I think it needs lots more. I can't wait to really get into all the SFX for the shoot this weekend!

His and Hers Toasting Glasses

It was kinda hard to photograph them, but these are our toasting glasses! We decided to each choose our own. I know mine is actually a martini glass, but that's the one I liked!

They're french platinum crystal and they're gorgeous!
